Quality & Compliance
Material certifications, NAVSEA compliance documentation, NDT inspection records, and hydrostatic test reports furnished with every order. Every casting ships with full traceability.
Documentation
Every production order at Ironbound includes the documentation your quality system requires — from commercial MTRs to full NAVSEA first article packages.
Certified material test reports are furnished with every production order. MTRs include chemical composition analysis and minimum mechanical properties (tensile, yield, elongation) for the actual heat poured — not nominal specification values.
For Navy and defense castings, we provide complete NAVSEA documentation packages per NAVSEA S9074-AR-GIB-010/278 and applicable T9074 instructions — including first article, production, and material certification records.
Non-destructive testing performed in-house by certified operators. We perform radiographic (RT), liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and ultrasonic (UT) inspection per customer specification or NAVSEA requirements.
Pressure-tight castings hydrostatically tested to customer-specified pressure requirements. All test procedures, pressures, hold times, and pass/fail results are documented and furnished with shipment.

Navy & Defense
Ironbound Castings has supplied castings to General Dynamics Electric Boat and other Navy prime contractors. We understand NAVSEA documentation requirements and produce the full package — material certifications, NDE records, dimensional inspection, hydrostatic test reports, and first article documentation — on a single purchase order.
In February 2019, General Dynamics Electric Boat visited our facility to present on quality standards and the critical importance of the castings we provide to the submarine program.
