General Dynamics Electric Boat Visits Ironbound Castings

General Dynamics Electric Boat visited our facility to give a presentation on quality standards and the critical importance of the castings we produce for the Navy submarine program. The visit reinforced our commitment to delivering Navy-spec castings with full documentation and traceability.

General Dynamics Electric Boat, prime contractor for the U.S. Navy submarine program, visited Ironbound Castings on February 2, 2019 to present on quality requirements and the importance of the bronze, nickel, and Monel castings we supply to the submarine program.

The presentation covered NAVSEA quality standards, documentation requirements, and the direct impact that casting quality has on submarine readiness and safety. Representatives from Electric Boat walked our team through the inspection, traceability, and certification requirements that govern castings delivered under Navy contracts.

Ironbound Castings supplies propulsion, piping, valve, and structural castings to Navy prime contractors under NAVSEA specifications including S9074-AR-GIB-010/278. Our in-house capabilities — green sand and no-bake molding, pattern making, machining, CMM inspection, NDT, and hydrostatic testing — allow us to deliver a complete, certified casting package on a single purchase order.

We are proud of our partnership with General Dynamics Electric Boat and our continued role in supplying high-quality castings to the U.S. Navy submarine program.
